Jesus said to him, “[You say to Me,] ‘If you can?’ All things are possible for one who believes and trusts [in Me]!” – Mark 9:23 (AMP)
One day over lunch, two old compadres working as labourers for the same firm were discussing their life achievements within the last ten years. The discussion revealed that one had acquired his own home and personal transportation while being the breadwinner for his family. He attributed his success to having an ‘optimistic and growth mindset,’ despite not making the personal decision to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal Saviour.
On the other hand, his friend was a pessimist with a fixed mindset who professed to stand strong in God’s faith. However, he resided with his wife and children in a rented home, used public transportation, and thought nothing else was required.
Often, believers are guilty of operating with a fixed mindset in their daily lives, which results in slow progress or stagnation in their walk. Getting them to understand that ‘the cattle on a thousand hills belong to the Lord’ (Psalm 50:10), and therefore ours, is a chore by itself.
Friends, the Word of God states that, “…he who comes to God must believe that He is, and a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6 – NKJV). Therefore, the time has come for you to trust God wholeheartedly, believing that He is. Stop limiting the Almighty God, and most importantly, stop depending on your strength and capability. Rather, focus on making your calling an election sure and have faith in Him. He is waiting for you.
